TS5C Sponsored Athlete
The flagship fund has already benefited over 130 young athletes from Somerset in a variety of sports. TS5C sponsored athletes have already achieved significant results at both County and National level, and have competed for Team GB in international competitions.

Brodie joined a small team of 17 swimmers who had been selected to represent GB in Toronto at the Ontario International Meet in Canada just before Christmas and recorded the fastest ever time for the 200m backstroke by a 17 year old boy from Great Britain

His first swim was the 400IM with a tough field, but he swam a personal best time of 4.13.90 which gave me a fourth place.

In his more favoured backstroke events, he again gained PB in the 50m with a time of 25.27 and in the 100m 53.26, taking silver for Great Britain in both!

On the final day, he swam in his favoured event the 200m backstroke, and was thrilled when he clocked a time of 1.55.19

HE HAD WON GOLD.

Although Brodie new the time was fast, he didnt then realise that this was the fastest ever recorded time for the 200m backstroke by a 17 year old boy from Great Britain.

Brodie has now been selected to represent Great Britain again at the end of February in Indianapolis America.
