I've defininately had my busiest and best summer yet this year. It's been a tough one though with lots of changes to my coaching so training at times has been quite hard. Despite that, I was selected due to my preformance at British Championships, to represent TEAM GB at the First ever European Games In Baku, I had a fantastic meet and was able to come away with pb's in all my races, as well as an individual Bronze and two team Silvers.
I was also selected to represent Great Britian at the Fina World Junior Swimming Championships in Singapore at the end of August. I was very pleased with my swims and managed to pb yet again in two of my three events missing out on a bronze medal by 0.17 secs. Overall I finished 5th in the 50m and 100m breast stroke and 7th in the 200m breast stroke in the world. It had been a challenging few weeks leading up to the worlds which included driving myself to Bath to train twice a day, three days a week, as well as various other sessions in different pools with different coaches, so although preparation was not at its best I feel I pushed myself hard and well to achieve the results I had.
I have now secured a full time place at the National Centre in Bath where I will be a full time athlete and am now in I feel the best possible position to give me the best opportunity of achieving my dream, to represent my country at an Olympic Games.
Your support has had a huge impact this summer and I am very grateful to you all.
