TS5C Sponsored Athlete
The flagship fund has already benefited over 130 young athletes from Somerset in a variety of sports. TS5C sponsored athletes have already achieved significant results at both County and National level, and have competed for Team GB in international competitions.

The SW Triathlon Series 2nd race took place in Gloucester. The 300m swim, 6k bike and 2.4k run was held in waves and saw the race favourites in different heats. The race leaders were evenly matched on both swim and transition with Cook producing the fastest bike section though was unlucky to be caught on the run time taking 2nd place just 5 seconds behind the winner.

Portland Aquathlon quickly followed and saw Cook leave the sea in 4th place. A less than perfect transition lost valuable time but Cook kept his head and worked hard on the 3k run to narrow the gap finishing in a respectable 4th place.

This weekend was the penultimate full triathlon of the SW Series and took place at Farringdon. Series leaders were the last wave to compete and Cook was 3rd out of the swim and again executed the fastest bike leg to lead into the 3rd lap of the 2.2k run only to be caught by the Series leader with Cook taking a very well deserved 2nd place.

Focus for the TS5C supported athlete is to aim for a top 3 finish at the finale at Bowood House on July 1 just 12 days before Cook attempts to cross the English Channel with 5 fellow Street and District swimmers in aid of Make A Wish. https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/ichthyosaurswim
