In December, Jacob went to Sheffield to compete in the ASA Winter Championships. He qualified to swim in 8 events but chose to compete in 6 of those over the four day competition.
He swam personal best times in 5 out of the 6 events and made the A final in the 100m, 200m and 400m Individual medleys and the 200m backstroke and the B final in the 200m butterfly and breaststroke.
His best results were in the 200 and 400 IMs, where he finished in 4th place, just being out touched for a medal in both events. As a result of these swims, he finished the year ranked number 1 in the 17 year age group for the 200 and 400 IMs short course.
