TS5C Sponsored Athlete
The flagship fund has already benefited over 130 young athletes from Somerset in a variety of sports. TS5C sponsored athletes have already achieved significant results at both County and National level, and have competed for Team GB in international competitions.

In December 2016 Zak competed in the ASA Winter Nationals at Ponds Forge, Sheffield.

 

His first event was the Men's Open 100 metres Breast Stroke, where he took over a second off his PB in the heats to drop from 1:02:8 to 1:01:5. This qualified him for his first ever open national final. In the final, he again lowered his PB to record a 1:00:5 and take 5th position. 

His next event was the Men's 50 metre breast stroke where he again recorded a huge PB to make the final. In the final, he recorded a further PB of 27.6. This gave him 4th place in the Men's open final. 

In both finals he was the youngest competitor! 

For the 50 metre breast stroke he is now ranked fastest (1st) 18 year old in GB and the 3rd fastest 18 year old of all time in GB. For the 100 metre breast stroke he is now ranked the 2nd fastest 18 year old in GB and the 4th fastest 18 year old of all time in GB.

His next competition which will be in Geneva, Switzerland in January.
